There’s less than a week to go before the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix kicks off in Christchurch, with SailGP’s fleet of flying F50s preparing for two days of fast and furious racing.
Set against the iconic backdrop of Whakaraupō, Lyttelton Harbour, ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix marks the penultimate leg of Season 3’s 11-event calendar.
Racing will take place between 3pm and 4.30pm NZDT on March 18 & 19, with the league’s hydro foiling catamarans going head-to-head just metres from shoreside crowds.
The pressure is on hometown heroes New Zealand, currently in second place overall, to extend their lead on Quentin Delapierre’s France in third. Tom Slingsby’s Australia meanwhile has a clear 12-point lead at the top of the leaderboard.
The release of 450 additional Fan Village grandstand tickets have gone on sale on Ticketek NZ, giving fans a final chance to secure their spot at SailGP’s long-awaited New Zealand debut.
After the first allocation of tickets sold out within hours, racing fans are encouraged to act fast or risk missing out.
Located in the Fan Village, the final grandstand tickets will position fans along the final stretch of the course – the perfect location to watch SailGP’s fleet of identical F50 catamarans hurtle past on the approach to the finish line.
The tickets are priced at NZD$110 per person and are inclusive of transfer to and from the Christchurch city centre. Tickets are extremely limited, so get in quick.
