In the fascinating world of yacht brokerage, there’s always an adventure around the corner. For the team at YachtFinders, a recent trip took them from the lovely old streets of Italy to the energetic heart of Hong Kong, and finally to the bustling shipyards of China.
Their adventure kicked off in the beautiful Italian city of Piacenza, just before the big event: the Absolute Dealers Meeting. Piacenza, nestled between the peaceful River Po and the rolling Apennine Mountains, offered the team a much-needed breath of fresh air before the busy days of the meeting.
In a light-hearted moment, James from YachtFinders decided to buy a massive 24kg watermelon from a local vendor. With this giant fruit, he made the day of hotel staff and random guests, handing out slices to everyone around. It was a fun moment that led to many new friendships.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Italy without some delicious food. The team enjoyed plenty of fantastic meals, all made with local ingredients and traditional Italian recipes. With the sunny weather and cool, crisp beers, it was the perfect setting for relaxing and getting to know each other better.
Not to be held back by language barriers, Gary and James ventured into the old part of Piacenza armed with Google Translate. They had a great time exploring the area, chatting with locals, and making even more friends.
A significant highlight of the Italian leg of the journey was their visit to the Absolute shipyard. This experience offered them a unique chance to delve into the fine craftsmanship and detailed engineering involved in yacht production, further enhancing their professional expertise.
After wrapping up their Italian adventure, the YachtFinders team headed east to Hong Kong. This vibrant city was their home base as they prepared for the next part of their journey – a visit to the Selene shipyard in China.
The trip to China was an eye-opener. At the Selene shipyard, they saw first-hand the sophistication and precision involved in building state-of-the-art yachts. The visit proved to be a valuable learning experience and an exciting look into China’s thriving shipbuilding industry.
Throughout their journey, the YachtFinders team realized that their job was about much more than just brokering yacht deals. It was about making connections, understanding different cultures, and sharing unforgettable experiences as a team.
The Absolute Dealers Meeting was a great success. It allowed old friends to catch up and new friendships to form. More than just a business event, the meeting and the journey itself were proof that at YachtFinders, it’s not just about yachts – it’s about people, places, and shared adventures.
From the sun-soaked streets of Piacenza to the bustling shipyards in China, the YachtFinders team proved that they’re more than yacht brokers – they’re explorers and friends. We can’t wait to see where the journey takes them next.
